One of My Favorite YA Authors

I love reading, and especially reading authors that not everyone may be super familiar with. A great source for me to find some of these authors is Goodreads. It's a great website that helps me find just about any type of book I'm wanting to read. There is a section that you can add a book to your "to read" list. This "to read" list over the years is where I pick 90% of the books that I read. I have found some wonderful authors because of this great resource. 

One of my favorite YA (young adult) authors is, Anna Banks.(byannabanks.blogspot.com) She is the author of a brilliant series that includes; Of Poseidon, Of Triton, and Of Neptune (which comes out in May). Again because this blog is clearly just about my opinion nothing more nothing less let me tell you why I find this series brilliant.

•  It's not the same thing that you've read a hundred times. 
• Any parent can be comfortable with allowing their teenagers to read it without worrying about having to have a conversation about a heavier or moral topic.
• As an adult reading this series it is great, so the author has bridged a bigger audience.

• If you are one of those people that judge a book by the cover, even the cover is great.

These are just the surface points. I cover the surface points because unfortunately these are some of the biggest and quickest things that a lot of people consider now a days when thinking about a new author or a new series or trying something new in the book world.

What about the read itself you ask? It has secrets that can be told, mystery, innocence that's real and doesn't have to be jaded, friendship new and old, situations that aren't perfect but are still okay, family, love, and of course the entire myth element.  

I've enjoyed the series and look forward to continue reading her next book in May.
