After yesterday's shopping experience at a supercenter I thought it was time to reevaluate my shopping habits. I am a heavy coupon user, I price match every thing it seems, and I literally have to make my dollar stretch as far as possible. Also I shop every 2 weeks for my family my grocery budget includes everything extra we use ex: cleaners, health/beauty, clothes, food, all extras. We pack all lunches and extras, I ship food to my college student monthly. I'm still old fashioned and home cook dinners and a lot of desserts. We have to have fresh veggies it's a must, and meat is still a must for us. We are not the family that can go meatless yet. I love my environment friendly products too. All this being said I can find all of that at the supercenter, BUT that cuts our local businesses out.
After a lot of talk and discussion between my husband and myself. I will not be shopping at the supercenter till the end of July. That will be no spring or summer business of ours. All the ad's that I've been price matching from I will be shopping those stores. Those stores have taken the time to make ads...I will shop your stores not price match. I will not take a 2 hour trip to the grocery store and deal with it all at once, I will spend an entire Friday and go store to store. It's time I checked out each and every one of our local businesses and seen for myself what they have and what deals and sale and service they can provide. I'll keep you up to date on some of the cool things I find this summer.
