Directions

Your going somewhere for the very first time in your vehicle. There is a good chance someone has suggested this place for some reason so you have their word of mouth directions, your general sense or lack of direction, and then the fine details. For the fine details you can use a map, get directions online, call the place, or use one of the many different gps systems out there.

Everyone has their reasons for doing their own fine detail way and why. Of course here is the part of the post where I share with you my fine detail path. Onstar all the way. Those of you who know me know just how addicted I am to Onstar. It is that luxury per say item that I pay for every month that is totally worth every penny. I may be the only person out there without a smartphone, but I have onstar that I pretty much depend on with their services everyday.

Let's cut to the chase why am I so addicted to it? Why are even my teenagers addicted to it?
  • In my monthly detail report I actually see which tire on my car is low and how much pressure I need to add.
  • The hands free calling. It helps that my car has this feature, but there is no ear piece no extra anything that I have to hook up. Even my dinosaur phone can link into this high tech feature. I answer calls from the steering wheel no looking for a phone.
  • The navigation directions. You literally push a color coded button on the rearview mirror. A real onstar agent comes on the line you give them the directions and they download the directions to your car.
  • Customer Service- as I already said a real onstar agent.
My teenagers have never had a problem using the navigation directions either. In fact some of their friends will follow them places just because they have onstar. We are able to go to any out of the way auction their is, because we know we aren't going to get lost.

Some people really get on me about not be up to date with the latest technology. I like to think of it as being more picky about the technology I am going to use. Just because everyone has it, doesn't mean I need it. So no to the smartphone, yes to onstar.
